Toronto comedian Adam Mohammed invites audiences to the Tranzac on August 19, September 16, October 21 and November 25, 2025 for a wholesome night of irony with Literal Trash: A Comedy Experience. Literal Trash follows Trash (pronouns: “trash” or “it”), a two foot sentient garbage bag with a heart of gold in an experimental physical comedy show for fans of WALL-E and Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.

Created and performed by Adam Mohammed, with coaching and mentoring from Isaac Kessler, Literal Trash: A Comedy Experience is an exploration of what happens when a bag of trash comes to life. Trash is a friendly yet often overlooked bag who has been waiting for the garbage truck to finally bring it to the landfill where it might find friends. Trash’s urban wildlife neighbours are moving to Orangeville, and it carries a deep longing to belong.

Reflecting on the rare occasion of being around humans, Literal Trash: A Comedy Experience sees Trash examining its downtrodden life and tries connecting with the audience by listening to sad music with them or being the subject of life drawing. By the end of each night—in real-time with the audience’s help—Trash discovers new meaning, new friends, and what can only be treated as a true moral of the immersive story: we all feel like Trash sometimes. And the lingering question: why can’t we feel like Trash together?

Adam Mohammed is a local physical comedy artist who loves 2D animation, Disney and Pixar stories, and their memorable characters. After performing at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, Kajea’s Porch View Dances, a year of unscripted character work at Social Capital Theatre, and being curated for Hercinia Arts Collective's immersive art parties and several not-for-profit community-based performances, he has finally formed his non-final form in Literal Trash. Adam has also experimented with improvised piano recordings for the first time to compose the score for Literal Trash.
