17 JOPLIN songs and MEMOIR in this visit with the soul of JANIS, written and performed by the legendary interpreter JAN KUDELKA - part theatre, part concert.

Jan Kudelka, since 1980, has made a lifelong study of the voice impact and energy of Janis Joplin in multiple iterations over the years performed in theatre and concert forms. Now, in the evolution of this iconic legend, Kudelka has taken on "OLD JANIS".

Using dreams and direct transmissions from the "ghost-spirit" of JANIS herself, the audience receives a riveting 90 minute performance of JOPLIN's songs and inner world from a masterful creator- performer. Rather than a full band, and in keeping with the intimacy of this fully realized exploration there are specialized SOLO backing tracks created by the talented Canadian singer songwriter Liam Maclvor Tyne. And additional songs by Leonard Cohen and Robbie Robertson pertaining to Janis' complex tragic yet joyful life.

It is the true story of 28 Canadian Clowns on tour during the 70's under the leadership of the late and great and legendary Canadian teacher of clown, Richard Pochinko.

The 23 exotic circus, middle and working class characters of Circus Gothic form an unforgettable glimpse into a down and out American Mudshow touring through the Maritimes.

Many productions of Circus Gothic have taken place over the years in high schools, universities, even prisons.

Kudelka performs solo in the original celebrated format as when it took Canadian theatre by storm in the wake of Billy Bishop and Maggie and Pierre.
