Toronto: Pucker’s presents “Concord Floral” by Jordan Tannahill October 8-12

Wednesday, September 10, 2025

Pucker’s, a new theatre company founded by 郝邦宇 Steven Hao and Allison MacKenzie, launches its inaugural season with a provocative multidisciplinary reimagining of CONCORD FLORAL by Jordan Tannahill at The Theatre Centre BMO Incubator, running October 8–12, 2025 (opening night October 9).

Inside a deserted suburban greenhouse, ten teenagers are bound by secrets they cannot escape. As whispers spread and shadows grow, a mysterious plague seeps into their lives, forcing them to confront the choices they’ve made—and the ghosts they’ve left behind. Inspired by The DecameronConcord Floral collides the ordinary with the surreal: text messages and late-night walks are pierced by visions, while the safety of friendship fractures into betrayal, fear, and reckoning.

Staged in the round, the production blends live and pre-recorded dialogue with music, image, and gesture to create a space for physical, non-traditional, narrative-bending storytelling, offering a version of

CONCORD FLORAL like you have never experienced before. Think Kidd Pivot meets Frantic Assembly meets I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Co-directed by Pucker’s Artistic Director and Stratford Festival performer 郝邦宇 Steven Hao (ORDINARY DAYS - Shifting Ground Collective; A PERFECT BOWL OF PHO - Toronto Fringe/Kick & Push Festival) and rising choreographer Alli Carry (IRIS, SAYS GOODBYE - Mixtape Projects; ZEITGEIST, Off The Nose), with original music by Ben Yoganathan (ZEITGEIST- Off The Nose; ECHO - A Front Company), sound design by Kai Korven, lighting design by Mathilda Kane (IRIS, SAYS GOODBEYE - Mixtape Projects; CYNATIX - Citadel + Compagnie), and scenic design by Irene Ly (WOKING PHOENIX - Silk Bath Collective; INSERT CLOWN HERE - Parlous Theatre), this bold multidisciplinary reimagining transforms The Theatre Centre into an eerie, dreamlike world.

With Jordan Tannahill’s text woven around an incredible ensemble of young actors and dancers, Pucker’s reimagining brings a new vision to Concord Floral—elevating its timeless ghost story with a chilling portrait of modern adolescence, mortality, and the fragile line between truth and denial.
