Toronto: Downstage Theatre Company presents “An Intervention” February 13-15

Thursday, January 15, 2026

Making its Toronto premiere as Downstage Theatre Company’s debut production, Mike Bartlett’s An Intervention is a riveting two-hander that follows a friendship on the brink of collapse. Leaving no stone unturned, Bartlett deftly explores love, politics, addiction, and citizen responsibility through two best friends. Do opposites truly attract?

Directed by Dora-award winning actor and director 郝邦宇 Steven Hao, and featuring actors Jadyn Nasato and Jordan Kuper, An Intervention will leave audiences stunned this February at Native Earth Performing Arts’ Giizis Studio from February 13-15, 2026. About the Show:

A touching, funny play about what happens when your closest friendship starts to unravel. One of them went to the anti-war protest, shouted their lungs out, then got horrendously and staggeringly drunk. The other stayed at home, watched TV for a bit, and thought about the future.
