Thousand Islands Playhouse Managing Artistic Director Brett Christopher has announced the casts and creative teams for the Playhouse’s 45th season.
The Playhouse will once again welcome some of Canada's finest performers and creatives, with credits spanning Broadway, the Shaw and Stratford Festivals, Mirvish and regional theatres from across the country.
“Joining us this season are some of Canadian theatre’s most sought-after artists," says Christopher. “I am honoured to have this remarkable company bring our 45th season to life, sharing their talent and artistry with our audiences.”
Highlights of the 2026 season include:
Joelle Peters will take the stage as Eugenia in Women of the Fur Trade after her standout performance in the same role at the Stratford Festival (2023). She is joined by an incredible cast, including Elliot Gosh, most recently in Silo (Apple TV), playing Louis Riel.
Susan Dunston and Amir Haidar return to the musical Come From Away after being part of the Broadway and Mirvish productions, bringing heart and humanity to one of Canada's most cherished stories.
World-renowned puppeteer Ronnie Burkett will make his Playhouse debut to perform the unforgettable and beautiful Wonderful Joe.
Acclaimed Canadian actress and director Sheila McCarthy will direct Sugar Road, starring Fiona Mongillo, making her Playhouse debut.
The irresistible energy of Grease will ignite the stage with Kingston-born Will Lincoln-Gouett, returning to the Playhouse (Jesus Christ Superstar 2024), and Paige Foskett, most recently Scaramouche in We Will Rock You (Mirvish), at the helm.
Ashley Botting, best known for This Hour Has 22 Minutes (CBC), stars in the razor-sharp mystery Murder at Ackerton Manor, with Aaron Reid Ryder returning to the Playhouse (How the Other Half Loves 2025) and Andrew Scanlon making his debut.
Rounding out the season, the intimate and emotionally resonant musical The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown will see Stratford and Shaw Festival star James Daly alongside Tess Benger, fresh off her run in Kimberly Akimbo (Mirvish).
The Thousand Islands Playhouse season begins May 1 and runs until November 1, 2026.
