London, ON: Theatre Aezir presents “The Shark Is Broken” April 9-19

Friday, February 13, 2026

The open ocean is a dangerous place to have an ego trip.

Martha’s Vineyard, 1974. The mechanical shark is broken. The weather is turning. The booze is flowing. And for the lead actors of a little-known film called JAWS, the real battle isn’t against a great white—it’s against each other.

Step onto the deck of the Orca in this "hilariously sharp" (The Guardian) and deeply moving comedy-drama. Trapped on a cramped boat for weeks on end, Hollywood icons Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider find themselves caught between cinematic greatness and a total breakdown.

Why You Can’t Miss It:

 • The Untold Story: Inspired by Robert Shaw’s private diaries, get a fly-on-the-wall look at the making of a masterpiece.

 • A Masterclass in Tension: Watch the legendary friction between the veteran Shaw and the ambitious young Dreyfuss boil over in real-time.

 • Witty & Human: Beyond the movie trivia, it’s a brilliant exploration of masculinity, family legacy, and the price of fame.
