Port Hope: The Capitol Theatre presents “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” May 15–31

Sunday, March 15, 2026

The Capitol Theatre Port Hope is THRILLED to be producing You're A Good Man Charlie Brown!

Life, love, baseball—and an opinionated dog named Snoopy.

Based on the beloved comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, this musical comedy chronicles the adventures of Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang. Through hilarious scenes and toe-tapping songs, they explore life’s great questions–all while playing baseball, struggling with homework, swooning over crushes, and celebrating the joy of friendship.

This revue of songs and vignettes is based on the beloved Charles Schulz comic strip. You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown opened in New York City on March 7, 1967 and played for 1,597 performances at the Theatre 80 St. Marks, with Gary Burghoff in the title role. This version was revived on Broadway in 1971 and played for 32 performances at the John Golden Theatre. A new version, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Revised), was presented on Broadway in 1999 and played for 149 performances at the Ambassador Theatre, with Tony Award-winning performances by Roger Bart as Snoopy and Kristin Chenoweth as Sally! Now the production will be onstage at Capitol Theatre for a two week run!
