Bad Dog Comedy Theatre and Sex T-Rex are thrilled to announce the return of Blockbuster Week from May 11-16, 2026 at VideoCabaret’s Deanne Taylor Theatre (10 Busy Street, Toronto).

Taking place at VideoCabaret for the first time in the festival’s history, some of Toronto’s most talented comedians and improvisers will take over Leslieville for this high-energy festival of brand new improvised comedies celebrating movies and television in a live, unscripted setting.

At Blockbuster Week, Toronto’s best improvisers perform their takes on film and television genres, popular hits, and cult classics. This year’s festival sees the return of such favourites as Once Upon a Time in Bollywood and GRINDHOUSE, along with new offerings such as The Hunger Games (but with puppets) and LES MISprovised, presented by the creator-performers of the smash hit Not Hamilton Improvised (featured in Blockbuster Week 2025 and the Comedy is Art Festival).

Blockbuster Week culminates on May 16th in a celebratory awards night called The Sexies, which sees Sex T-Rex awarding satirical yet heartfelt awards to all the artists in the festival.
