Toronto: Toronto Fringe announces the venues to be used for the 2026 festival

Toronto Fringe is pleased to announce the full slate of venues that will host over 120 indie theatre productions across the city during the 38th annual Toronto Fringe Festival, taking place June 30-July 12, 2026. Toronto Fringe is Ontario’s largest performing arts festival, and will release full programming and box office information on June 3, 2026.

Toronto Fringe returns to Soulpepper Theatre as the home of the 2026 festival hub with four venues in one building, including Michael Young Theatre, Weyni Mengesha Theatre, Kevin and Roger Garland Cabaret, and RBC Studio. The Fringe Hub will host free events and community gatherings in Soulpepper Theatre’s Studio Lounge, as well as across the lane at Old Flame Brewing Co., down the lane at the Distillery Stage, and at Spirit of York Distillery.

The Next Stage Series will pause in 2026 in anticipation of the new Fringe Encore Series. As part of its ongoing Creative Collaboration Initiative, Soulpepper Theatre, Obsidian Theatre, Bad Hats Theatre and Toronto Fringe will bring audiences a curated showcase of the summer’s most exceptional Fringe productions from September 26-October 11, 2026 at Soulpepper Theatre.

New this year, Toronto Fringe will host all six KidsFest shows at Young People's Theatre Studio, with performances and free family activities. The festival will also return to Tarragon Theatre’s Mainspace, Factory Theatre and Native Earth Performing Arts. Toronto Fringe will host performances in Factory Theatre’s Mainspace and Studio for the first time since 2023, and Native Earth’s Aki Studio and Minogitoon Workspace Giizis Studio as satellite venues.

Additional Satellite Venues will include: Alumnae Theatre Mainspace, VideoCabaret’s Deanne Taylor Theatre and Sweet Action Theatre, with the Alliance for Canadian Musicals once again taking over Theatre Passe Muraille Mainspace.

Unconventional Venues will include: College Street United Church, Arts & Letters Club, Ollie Quinn, Jamii Hub, Studio 162, CineCycle, The Geary Avenue Warehouse, Cake Cabaret, BirdHaus, Society Clubhouse, BeBloor Condos Party Room, B Street Arts Hub and Atlantic Avenue Athletic Club.

Toronto Fringe will host performances from the following 2026 award recipients: The New Play Contest Winner, generously sponsored by Neville Austin, is Danse Macabre by Rhoma Spencer; The Adams Prize for Musical Theatre, generously sponsored by the Pat and Tony Adams Freedom Fund for the Arts, is Olivia O, The Musical by Diane Currie & Jessica Carmona; and The B Street Collaborative Award for Dance, generously sponsored by the B Street Collaborative, Tango After Midnight by Erin Scott-Kafadar & Alexander Richardson.

Toronto Fringe also welcomes the 2025 TENT Program cohort back as they work together to produce Snacey! by Priscila Gonzalez. Since its inception in 2014, the TENT (Theatre Entrepreneurs’ Network and Training) Program has served over 200 emerging artists by providing intensive training in the skills vital to making their theatrical work a reality and connecting them with some of Canada’s artistic innovators, leaders, and producers. The TENT alumni network includes over 200 independent artists and producers.
