Winners of the 41st Annual Lucille Lortel Awards, recognizing the best of Off- and Off-Off-Broadway Theatre, were revealed May 3 in a ceremony at NYU Skirball.

Outstanding Play went to Jordan Tannahill's Prince Faggot. Prince Faggot won out over Cold War Choir Practice by Ro Reddick, Kyoto by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson, THE MONSTERS by Ngozi Anyanwu and Mother Russia by Lauren Yee.

Jordan Tannahill's Prince Faggot had an extended engagement at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater and returned for a run at Studio Seaview on September 11, 2025, and played its final performance on December 13, 2025.

Prince Faggot was directed by Shayok Misha Chowdhury (Public Obscenities).

The ensemble cast featured Rachel Crowl (Between Two Knees), K. Todd Freeman (Downstate), David Greenspan (Marie Antoinette), Mihir Kumar (Law and Order: SVU), John McCrea (Cabaret), and N’yomi Allure Stewart (A Raisin in the Sun) and Tyrone Mitchell Henderson (The Skin of Our Teeth). 

Described in press notes as a "meta-theatrical tragicomedy," the work featured a queer and gender expansive ensemble daring to imagine a monarch from their own community.

The production also had scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Isabella Byrd, sound design and original music by Lee Kinney, wig and hair design by Cookie Jordan, dramaturgy by Sarah Lunnie and intimacy coordination by UnkleDave's Fight-House with props by Matt Carlin, aerial effects by Paul Rubin, and dialect coaching by Deborah Hecht. Casting was by Alaine Alldaffer, Lisa Donadio and Taylor Williams.

Jack Serio was the associate director. The production stage manager was Ryan Gohsman, with production supervision by Hudson Theatrical Associates' Sean Gorski and Seaview/Jonathan Whitton serving as general manager.

Producing were bb² (Jeremy O. Harris and Josh Godfrey), Seaview, LD Entertainment, Playwrights Horizons, and Soho Rep.
