Théâtre français de Toronto (TfT) announces its 2026–2027 season: six bold productions presented at three iconic Toronto venues — the Berkeley Street Theatre, the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre and the Nancy & Ed Jackman Performance Centre. A season that commands attention, under the artistic direction of Karine Ricard, through which the TfT transforms its stage into a space of resistance and renewal, celebrating the voices that dare to break free from imposed frameworks and assert their singular vision.

This season reaches beyond Toronto: the co-production Les Sentinelles will be presented at the PASS festival in French Guiana in November 2026, affirming the TfT’s role within the global Francophonie. In parallel, the TfT continues its accessibility mission: all productions are accompanied by English surtitles, and many school matinees are offered throughout the season, accompanied by dozens of in-class workshops — a gateway to live theatre for the next generation of Francophone artists and audiences.

THE SEASON’S PRODUCTIONS:

 • Rhinocéros by Eugène Ionesco, directed by Karine Ricard — Oct. 29 – Nov. 8, 2026, Berkeley Street Theatre. A masterpiece of absurdist theatre, the play explores the rise of conformity and the temptation of blind allegiance.

 • Les Zinspiré·es 14, directed by Danik McAfee — Nov. 26 – Dec. 11, 2026, Berkeley Street Theatre. Five original works from the provincial school playwriting competition, brought to life by a professional cast.

 • Va falloir toujours toujours, written and directed by Érika Tremblay-Roy and Christophe Garcia — Feb. 10–13, 2027, Berkeley Street Theatre. A philo-pop show blending dance and theatre around the myth of the perfect family.

 • Os, written and directed by Vincent Leblanc-Beaudoin — Feb. 24–27, 2027, Berkeley Street Theatre. A mosaic of five interwoven lives, blending physical theatre, poetry, puppetry, and projections.

 • Dimanche à Sodome by Jordan Tannahill, directed by Jocelyn Pelletier — Apr. 8–10, 2027, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Lot’s wife reclaims her voice in this five-time award-winning play, including Best Production from the AQCT.

 • Le Téton Tardif, written and performed by Caroline Raynaud — May 27–29, 2027, Nancy & Ed Jackman Performance Centre. An intimate solo probing perceptions of beauty, sexuality, and self-worth. (70 min, ages 14+)
