Theatre Passe Muraille (TPM) is proud to announce its 2026.2027 season, an exciting lineup of new intercultural and interdisciplinary performances that ask urgent questions about identity, belonging, and what it means to truly connect with one another.

Theatre Passe Muraille continues its longstanding commitment to developing and producing groundbreaking Canadian theatre while championing diverse artistic voices from across Canada and beyond.

The 2026.2027 season explores the question: How do we belong? Through stories of immigration, family, friendship, resistance, intergenerational dialogue, and community, audiences will encounter powerful world premieres, award-winning productions, dance, cabaret, international collaborations, and touring presentations.

“This season asks how we find each other across difference,” say Artistic Director Marjorie Chan and Artistic Producer Indrit Kasapi. “At a time when so many forces seek to divide us, these artists invite us into spaces of curiosity, empathy, humour, and radical imagination. Together, these works remind us that belonging is not something we inherit—it is something we actively create.”

In this powerful and timely new work, Mohammad sits before a camera to answer questions about citizenship. What begins as a bureaucratic exercise evolves into a deeply personal examination of identity, belonging, and the relentless demands of assimilation. Employing live camera and incisive humour, Syrian-Canadian artist Ahmad Meree delivers a compelling theatrical experience that resonates with urgent contemporary realities.

A Theatre Passe Muraille Special Presentation of A Hope in Hell Theatre Company production.

Twenty years after its world premiere at Theatre Passe Muraille, acclaimed actor Raoul Bhaneja returns with his internationally celebrated solo adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. With no elaborate sets or costumes, Bhaneja embodies seventeen characters in a breathtaking display of theatrical virtuosity. These special fundraising performances will support The Andy McKim Endowment Fund for New Works.

As Theatre Passe Muraille enters its 58th season, the company continues to foster artistic innovation while creating spaces for audiences to gather, reflect, and imagine new possibilities together.

“This season is an invitation to witness, to question, and to connect,” say Chan and Kasapi. “We invite audiences not simply to attend performances, but to join an ongoing conversation about who we are, how we live together, and who we might yet become.”
