Stratford: Supernatural thriller “The Veil” comes to Stratford October 23–31

Monday, September 28, 2026

Following an acclaimed Toronto run, The Veil brings an atmospheric blend of psychological suspense and supernatural storytelling to the Meighen Forum. Described as “spine-tingling” by the Toronto Star and “gripping, devastating and, yes, terrifying” by The Globe and Mail, this haunting solo show marks a thrilling first for the Stratford Festival: a ghostly, genre-defying theatrical experience that invites audiences into the unknown.

Created by celebrated theatre-makers with deep Stratford Festival roots, The Veil is the work of Keith Barker, the Festival’s Director of the Foerster Bernstein New Play Development Program and director of 2025’s The Art of War, and Thomas Morgan Jones, adapter and director of 2023’s A Wrinkle in Time.

Inspired by classic horror writers like Edgar Allan Poe and Shirley Jackson, the play follows a high-powered lawyer drawn into an unsettling mystery and a past he cannot escape. As the boundary between reality and imagination begins to blur, The Veil becomes a gripping exploration of guilt, ambition and the stories we tell ourselves.

Performed by Isaiah Kolundzic, The Veil offers audiences a riveting solo performance from an actor whose stage credits span Shakespeare, comedy, contemporary drama and new Canadian work. As October sets the perfect mood for an unsettling night at the theatre, don’t miss this inventive new work at the Meighen Forum.
