Four Mad Humours is a bi-national, interdisciplinary networked performance linking American and Canadian cities and performers in real-time through live-feed and projected landscape. The project consists of four dance-theatre solo works that delve into questions about the nature of madness based on the Elizabethan Humours once thought to make up a human being: sanguine, choleric, melancholic and phlegmatic.
Choreographed, written and directed by pounds per square inch artistic director Gerry Trentham and co-conceived and developed with Trentham's long time collaborator Jamie O'Neill, Four Mad Humours features two solos in each city performed live, while the two other solos are connected via live-feed from the other city.
