FRINGE FAVE ARTIST LUPE - AKA MELISSA D'AGOSTINO - HAS TODAY ISSUED A VIDEO APPEAL TO MAYOR FORD, REQUESTING HE ATTEND OPENING NIGHT OF HER NEW SATIRICAL HOLIDAY SHOW, A VERY LUPE XMAS

"The intent behind the invitation" says D'Agostino, "is to reach out in a
non-threatening manner to Mayor Ford and encourage him to check out some of
the arts scene in the city. Perhaps it could also help to bridge the gap
between Ford and the arts community. After all, what better time to bridge a
gap, than Christmas?"
LUPE, AKA D'Agostino, makes special mention in the video invitation, which
was sent directly to the Mayor's office yesterday, that she and the show are
'Mayor friendly' and promises not to 'ambush him', making reference to the
now legendary driveway incident involving "This Hour Has 22 Minutes" Mary
Walsh and her alter ego Marg Delahunty.
No stranger to civic relations, Lupe previously interviewed Mayor David
Miller (in a scheduled sit down interview agreed to by Miller's office) for
a series of video interviews she has done in the past.

D'Agostino's show, A VERY LUPE XMAS, opens for a limited two-week run at the new 918 Bathurst culture space on Thursday, December 8th.
