As a patron of the arts and a valued supporter of Drayton Entertainment’s family of theatres, we are thrilled to provide you with this exclusive look at what we have in store for our 2012 Season.
We’ll be presenting 14 different productions across six unique venues: the historic Drayton Festival Theatre in Drayton, our newly renovated Huron Country Playhouse and Playhouse II in Grand Bend, the King’s Wharf Theatre on the stunning shores of Penetanguishene, the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse in the bustling Market District and the Schoolhouse Theatre in the charming village of St. Jacobs. Each of these popular destinations has been widely embraced by the community, and if you haven’t yet had the opportunity to experience them all, I encourage you to plan a visit for the upcoming season.

9 To 5: The Musical
Mar 7 to Mar 25 (3 weeks)
This community outreach, innovative mentorship project finds Artistic
Director Alex Mustakas directing KW Musical Productions’ 9 To 5: The Musical. Look for your favourite Drayton Entertainment performers alongside some great local talent. Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers become unlikely friends when they concoct an outrageous plan to depose of their chauvinistic boss and seize control of the company. An instant sensation on Broadway, this musical comedy features the blockbuster title song, plus an exciting score of 18 original numbers penned by the iconic Dolly Parton.

April 11 to April 29 (3 weeks)
When Elwood P. Dowd introduces his mythical friend – a six-foot tall rabbit named Harvey – to guests at a society party, he sets in motion a chain of events that will cause everyone to question their own reality. This Pulitzer Prize winning masterpiece about dignity, self-respect, and the loyalty of friendship will disarm you with its warmth, wit ... and yes, whiskers.

June 13 to June 30 (3 weeks)
What do a washed-up radio announcer, a shy middle-aged couple, an aging rock star, and pair of thieves have in common? Find out in Norm Foster’s sleeper hit comedy that weaves together six hilarious stories taking place in six different bedrooms.
Big Band Legends
July 18 to Aug 12 (4 weeks)
In the tradition of our popular Legends series comes an original Drayton Entertainment production to honour the greatest crooners and songbirds of our time, backed by an all-star orchestra. The icons are all here: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, Paul Anka, Doris Day, Bobby Darin, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick, Jr. and more. Join us for this lively and nostalgic tribute.
Sleuth
Oct 3 to Oct 21 (3 weeks)
Set in a classic English manor house, two rivals play out deadly mind games in this tangled web of intrigue as a successful mystery writer calculates revenge against his wife’s young lover. Brimming with memorable music and magical moments, Annie is a family favourite. We bet your bottom dollar you’ll love it!

Norm Foster’s zippy comedy is a timely tale of perfection and the pursuit of happiness. Leon is determined to find a compatible mate for his old friend Bill. Together, they concoct a Top Ten list of the attributes of the ideal woman ... but when she arrives in the flesh, the men quickly learn that their foolproof list could stand a few revisions. Join us for a dating game that crackles with humanity – and hilarity.

The Sound of Music
May 15 to June 9 (4 weeks)
Join us for a timeless classic, as our stage becomes alive with the sound of music! In this epic love story, an aspiring nun named Maria leaves the convent to govern the seven mischievous children of Captain von Trapp. The memorable score by Rodgers & Hammerstein features such beloved songs as “My Favourite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Edelweiss,” “Climb Every Mountain,” and of course, the glorious title song.
Perfect Wedding
June 27 to July 14 (3 weeks)
On the morning of his wedding day, Bill wakes up with a dreadful hangover only to find an unknown and unclothed woman in his bed. It’s a race against time as Bill has to either get her out or, make up a plausible story before his bride-to-be and future mother-in law arrive. Take a walk down the aisle and say “I DO!” to a lifetime of love, laughter ... and lunacy.

One of the most influential musical artists of our time, Johnny Cash created a sound that crossed country, blues, folk, gospel and rock. Supported by his loving wife, June, each classic song is reborn in this stirring musical tribute: the Grammy Award-winning duet “Jackson”, along with “Folsum Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire,” “Boy Named Sue,” “Will The Circle Be Unbroken,”
“Peace In The Valley,” “Orange Blossom Special,” and many more.
