Casting for Television with Millie Tom
Monday, January 30th, 10am-5pm
9 Davies Avenue, Studio 305.
$125 regular price, $100 for CAEA/ACTRA members
In this workshop you will learn how to ace your television audition! Millie will take you through a day-long intensive where you'll have two contrasting scenes to prepare, direction, feed-back and a DVD with your work.
Millie Tom is a Toronto-based Casting Director with wide-ranging experience in casting series, shorts and features for film and television. She is the casting director for Discovery Channel’s Mayday, the CBC Mini-series Dragon Boys and films such as Rub & Tug, starring Don McKellar, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Serendipity Point Films’ You Might as Well Live, starring Stephen McHattie & Michael Madsen. At RDC Casting she worked on Jim Sheridan’s Dream House, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World; The Lookout; The Incredible Hulk and SyFy series Warehouse 13 and the ABC series Happy Town.

Sing your best audition pieces for Sherry Dayton and Michael Walters of Dayton-Walters Casting and learn how to nail the audition and book the job!
Dayton-Walters is the ‘go-to’ casting house for all of Toronto’s biggest musicals. Past credits include Dancap Productions’ Jersey Boys and Toxic Avenger, Mirvish Productions’ Hairspray and Producers and Stratford’s Oliver to name a few. They have conducted auditions across Canada and are known in the community as an actor-friendly panel, tireless in uncovering new and emerging talent.
The workshop is recommended for actors with experience auditioning for musical theatre. Participants must be prepared to sing two songs of their choice from the musical theatre repertoire.
