Searching for a dramatically different activity for youth this March break?
Back by popular demand, Theatre Collingwood is pleased to offer a 2012 March Break Drama Program for children ages 7 – 13 (Grades 1 – 8) during the week of March 12 – 16, 2012 from 9am – 3pm, at Theatre Collingwood’s new Production Centre (65 Simcoe St., corner of Ste Marie St.).
It’s five full days of exploring voice, movement and creative expression, while building basic theatre skills. The week’s activities will be designed for the experience and interest levels of the group, taught by a dynamic and highly skilled theatre professional.
Participants will make friends and have great fun rehearsing, preparing and imaginatively bringing characters and stories to life in a demonstration to be presented for parents and friends on the final Friday afternoon.
Young people are expected to bring their own peanut-free lunches and snacks. There will be a supervised lunch period between 12-1pm daily.
Limited spaces are available and advance registration is required. The March Break programs in 2007 and 2009 were sold-out.
The Government of Ontario currently offers a Children’s Activity Tax Credit for activities such as dramatic arts instruction for youth under 16 years of age. Visit www.ontario.ca/finance for details.
Theatre Collingwood acknowledges the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation regarding the drama training programs.
Give your children a dramatic mid-winter break to remember!
