Forget the grandiose title--the play has nothing to do with evolution or with man in general.  Instead, its sole focus is the passage from birth to adulthood of a Latino-Polish kid in the US named Corey Terry (Elan Farbiarz).  Each clichéd scene--from joining a frat to get laid to hitting “rock bottom” because of drugs and booze after his wife leaves him--seems like a movie clip more than real life.  We’re meant to cheer Corey along as he finally achieves success and, yes, the American Dream.  Still, what makes this trite material watchable is Farbiarz’s magnetic presence and intense, dynamic performance.
