Myths and Coffee Cups tells the story of a father and son as they chat over coffee one afternoon. They discuss everything from tapeworms, to time travel, to the meaning of eternity - it’s both hysterically funny and heart-wrenchingly moving. The play features tremendously talented film and stage actors Bob Legare and Damien Doepping.
Myths and Coffee Cups is the second play in the Fringe festival to be created by Trevor Poelman and his company, Books are Boring. The first play, If It’s Not Too Much Trouble, was met with very positive reviews including NNNN’s from NOW Magazine and the following reviews:
“The characters are three-dimensional from the start thanks to well-written exposition.” “NNNN” - Sharilyn Johnson - Now Magazine
“Playwright Trevor Poelman knows his way around a punchline and has a good ear for the sort of pop-cultured infused dialogue that made shows like Veronica Mars and Buffy the Vampire Slayer so distinctive.” - Joel Fishbane - The Charlebois Post
