In a gathering at the Arts Court Theatre, the Ottawa Fringe Festival handed out its end-of-Fringe awards. A peer jury chose to recognize these outstanding people/performances/shows.
Madeleine Hall and Mitchel Rose were the Emerging Artist Award winners for Cardinal, a clown show about Alzheimer’s.
Writer/actor Richard Hemphill won the Steve Sauvé won the Spirit of the Fringe Award.
The award for Outstanding Production went to Jayson McDonald for Magic Unicorn Island.
The Judges’ Choice Award winner was Can Ducks Fly Theatre for its creation Alpha Delta 86.
The Ottawa Fringe Volunteer of the Year was Jannet Lea.
The award for Outstanding Solo Performance went to Lana Schwarcz for Lovely Lady Lump.
Stéphanie Morin-Robert won the award for Outstanding Original Work for Blindside.
The Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance went to Tony Adams, Cory Thibert and Chelsea Young for Gary.
