“Oh, Sarah!” is a one-woman play by Uruguayan playwright Ariel Mastandrea, based on the life of Sarah Bernhardt, the great French actress of the late 19th/early 20th century stage. In the privacy of her Paris apartment, she writes her memoirs. We witness the Paris of her youth, her triumphs, her loves and her secret vulnerabilities as she relives private and public moments of her captivating life.
Toronto-based actress Edith Acker vividly portrays this significant historical icon who became a goddess of the age. Edith's experience translating the play into English gives her performance particular intimacy.
Salvadorian-Canadian director Mario Tenorio founded Pacun Peras The-A-Tro in Toronto in 1992. Its mission is to contribute its artistic voice through English-language productions of plays by some of Latin America’s most outstanding playwrights.
