Situational Anarchy is 100% true. Sort of.
For the past thirteen years Graham Isador has been in an on again/off again relationship with rockstar Laura Jane Grace. The relationship is characterized by two main factors:
1. Laura Jane Grace is the lead singer, lyricist, and front woman for the punk rock band Against Me.
2. Laura Jane Grace does not know that Graham exists.
Situational Anarchy is a young man's Odyssey through his tumultuous adolescence in the early-2000s punk scene. Through unflinchingly personal storytelling, Graham Isador pulls no punches as he recounts just what it was like to be a confused, bullied, lonely teenager growing up in the Greater Niagara-region. What it means to discover your hero, and how it feels when that hero betrays you.
Directed by Governor General’s Award nominee Tom Arthur Davis (Mahmoud, Served, Elizabeth – Darcy) and Jivesh Parasram (They Say He Fell, Birth), and written/performed by Graham Isador (Playwright’s Unit at Soulpepper, RISK! Podcast), Situational Anarchy is a one-man storytelling show about growing up, selling out, and moving on.
“Graham Isador is a gentle soul who takes an unflinching look at the big-little struggles of our lives."
-Guillermo Verdecchia, Governer General’s Award Winner
“Graham has a unique voice and a great sense of timing. As a storyteller he’s a pleasure to watch.”
-Frank Turner, singer/songwriter
