Focus Features plans to adapt the 2008 film "Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day," which starred Frances McDormand as a middle-aged London governess, into a musical for Broadway, according to Showbiz411.com.
The Tony Award-winning The Drowsy Chaperone songwriting duo, Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, are reportedly attached to the project with Steel Magnolias playwright Robert Harling as book writer and possible director.
"Miss Pettigrew," which also starred Amy Adams (Into the Woods) and Ciarán Hinds (Closer), features a screenplay by David Magee and Simon Beaufoy that was based on the 1938 novel of the same name by Winifred Watson.
The film centres around Guinevere Pettigrew (McDormand), who was dismissed from her job and now finds herself as the social secretary to actress and singer Delysia Lafosse (Adams).
