Queer trailblazers Ecce Homo Theatre kick off Pride weekend with an extravagant full facility dance party that promises to be unlike any other club night the city has to offer. Infusing the night club setting with performance art, club kid fashion, and drag, The Monstrous Ball offers up a pansexual melting pot of high art and low culture for one night only (June 28, 2012) at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, as part of their Queer Pride 2012 celebrations.

The Monstrous Ball is hosted by Fay Slift and features Tyson James recreating Yoko Ono's seminal performance work "Cut Piece", Kimberly Persona performing as Lady Gaga with a live band, a Club Kid runway show by Barbara Shears and the Sure Things, and a dance party with DJ Miss Margot culminating in a special performance by Cassandra Moore. Plus, share an intimate moment with Nina Arsenault as she re- performs Marina Abramović's "The Artist is Present" throughout the night.
In the spirit of infamous club nights like Taboo, Nag Nag Nag, and Disco 2000 - artists, musicians, intellectuals, and club goers will revel with stylized party freaks for one glorious night of dancing inspired by the art, music, and fashion of Lady Gaga

Ecce Homo is a Toronto-based theatre company with a mandate to produce stylized theatrical works with strong socio-political content which synthesize text, music, dance, and design; to yield a total theatrical experience. Ecce Homo's Of a Monstrous Child: a gaga musical will have its world premiere in May, 2013 as a co-production with Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.
