Queer Pride kicked off last weekend with two amazing Full Facility late night parties, and from now until Pride Sunday the building is packed with comedy, music, theatre, and cabaret acts from some of Toronto's most exciting queer entertainers along with the most outrageous clubbing in the village. Coming up this weekend we've got something for just about everybody, so no matter what your taste, we've got something for you.
THE WEEK AT A GLANCE
FRIDAY
O Manada! at 8pm | Strip Spelling Bee at 11pm
SATURDAY
Genderqueer at 2pm | Comedy Girl at 8pm | Buddies After Hours at 10:30pm
SUNDAY
Free Jane at 8pm
On Friday night, Canada's premiere all-male burlesque troupe BoylesqueTO brings back their acclaimed hit O Manada! Complete with naughty mounties, prancing prime ministers, and a whole lot of true patriot lust, you won't want to miss this one. Later that night, join us in the Cabaret for Strip Spelling Bee - which is exactly what it sounds like - and watch participants struggle to spell impossible words and proceed to strip for a rowdy audience of hooters, hollerers, and hecklers who want to see some smart and sexy skin.
This week also features our first comedy event, The Comedy Girl Second Annual Pride Show, hosted by Dawn Whitwell and featuring performances by some of Toronto's funniest queer women - including Zoe Whittal, Allyson Taylor, Lindy Zucker, Andrya Duff, Mariko Tamaki, and a whole bunch more. We've also got some great theatre offerings, with a reading of Nick Green's new play Body Politic on Saturday, and everyone's favourite beauty queen rebel returning with the ever-popular Free Jane on Sunday.
And every Saturday, Buddies After Hours throws open the doors for a Full Facility party with DJs K-Tel and Triple-X playing your top 40 favs and old school classics - plus catch performances this week by Cassandra and the always outrageous Donnarama.
Check out our Facebook Page for photos from last week's party.
