TORONTO, ON (*June 4, 2012) – Calling all campers! Summer fun begins at Harbourfront Centre’s unique Summer Camps programme. Whether your child has an interest in taking to the stage, joining the circus, cooking up a storm or sailing Lake Ontario, our diverse programmes are guaranteed to maximize learning and inspire creativity and fun.
Harbourfront Centre offers 46 specialized camps to choose from, including four brand new one-of-a-kind programmes in 2012. Our camps are designed for everyone from first-time campers to young adults, from ages 3 to 17.
Harbourfront Centre’s 2012 Summer Camps begin Monday, July 3 and run through Friday, August 31, doors open 8:30a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at various locations around the Harbourfront Centre and off-site. With one, two or four-week programme options, and various sessions throughout the summer, camps are designed to accommodate your family’s summer schedule. Fees start as low as $175 for one-week camps.
A supervised extended hours programme is available from 7:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 6 p.m., at an additional cost. Harbourfront Centre also offers a healthy and nutritious meal plan in conjunction with The Lunch Lady and a comprehensive busing programme with 40 stops throughout Toronto.

NEW FOR SUMMER 2012
Camp PawsWay
Ages 8-12
This exciting, new, hands-on experience is for all young animal lovers! The participants will receive a wide range of knowledge about cats and dogs, their origins, health, training, basic tricks and more. Join us in a fun-filled week of pet-themed activities, games, arts and exploration! In partnership with PawsWay, a unique centre devoted to the understanding and celebration of pets.
Please Note: There is no unsupervised contact with any animals during the programme.
Campers are not allowed to bring their own pets to this camp.
Camp Glee Club
Ages 11-15
Sing it out loud and join in on the fun of this exciting new camp! This choir camp will provide campers with the chance to work with skilled musicians and artists in perfecting their vocal abilities and choreography. The end-of-session performance will surely impress friends and families!
Senior Culinary Camp
Ages 11-15
This exciting new programme is for budding chefs and foodies. In partnership with the largest trainer of chefs and cooks in Ontario, Liaison College of Culinary Arts, participants will explore various aspects of the culinary arts with professional chef instructors. Working in a safe, professional, state-of-the-art kitchen, campers will experience the challenge of making tasty, nutritious meals from beginning to end.
Digital Media Camp
Ages 13-15
This camp is designed for the aspiring social media maven. Discover the world of blogging, Twitter, YouTube and more in this cutting edge new camp. Working with experienced staff and specialists, campers will learn how to responsibly share their insights in the form of a blog while safely navigating the social media landscape and increasing their cyber awareness. Basic computer and web browsing knowledge required.
