Toronto’s star zombie clown Mullet is back from the dead to bring you his Halloween spooktacular! October marks the one-year anniversary of Mullet’s Night Show, the hit monthly live cabaret done in the style of a late night television talk show!
Once again, host Mullet will be joined by regular sidekick, Robin Archer, star of With Love and A Major Organ, winner of both Patron’s Pick and Best of Fringe at the 2012 Toronto Fringe. This special edition of the Night Show pays homage to all things Halloween. Guests include Thea Munster, creator of the Toronto Zombie Walk; Sean Michael, winner of the 2012 Toronto Festival of Clowns Student Bursary; as well as some of this city’s finest improvisers and more! In addition, the stage will be converted into an afterlifelike cemetery built by master home haunter Hector Turner, as featured on Rogers TV. When the show ends, the party continues. There’ll be a costume contest, prizes, free food, dancing, and devilry!
But who is this famous zombie clown you’ve never heard of? Jean-Paul Mullét was born in 1726, died in 1747, then washed up onshore 100 years later. Now he performs live and on TV, stars in his own comics, and is one of the most sought after and respected clowns working in Toronto today. Credits include YTV’s Zoink’d and regular appearances on Ed & Red’s Night Party as well as Ed the Sock’s This Movie Sucks!, which won the 2011 Canadian Comedy Award for Best TV Show. He is a regular performer in the Lunacy Cabaret and Toronto Festival of Clowns, and has appeared in The Second City Toronto’s Late Night Cabaret. Mullet’s first play, the tragicomedy Mullet’s Make-a-Play, premiered in the 2011 Toronto Fringe Festival to rave reviews. Recently, Mullet brought his Night Show to New York City, where he packed the house at one of Manhattan’s top comedy clubs, The PIT. This is one zombie whose time underground deserves to end. Don’t miss your opportunity to meet Mullet live in the undead flesh! Don’t worry, he’s vegan.
Mullet’s Night Show is produced by Allan Turner, a professional stage/television/voice actor, as well as writer, director, and acting instructor. He is an experienced improviser, clown and bouffon, and veteran of the now legendary All-Canadian Theatresports as well as Bad Dog Theatre.
