Toronto, Ontario, October 9, 2013...Acting Up Stage Company is proud to launch their 10th Anniversary Season by once again paying tribute to the music of a living legend, with performances by some of Canada’s finest theatrical talent in entirely new arrangements by Reza Jacobs.
“Message in a Bottle,” “Roxanne,” “Desert Rose,” “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” and “Fields of Gold”. These are songs of love and loss; of explorers and castaways; of warriors and criminals; the songs of Sting and The Police. At this season’s UnCovered, experience wildly imaginative arrangements of these classic rock songs through the lens of musical theatre storytellers.
“We are so excited that our annual concert has become a must-see yearly event in both the theatre and music communities,” says Artistic Director Mitchell Marcus. “The music of Sting and The Police has always held a particular interest for me as it magically combines nuanced storytelling with sweeping melodies and musical composition. The mandate of our company has always been to present works which use music to enhance the power of storytelling through song, and the catalogues of Sting and The Police are a perfect vehicle to celebrate this mandate at the beginning of our 10th year.”
