Toronto: Take Your Mark Productions is remounting its successful Fringe Festival hit, Supperfesta! this December at Unit 102, on Dufferin St. at Queen St.
Supperfesta!, which won the Patrons’ Pick at the Toronto Fringe, is written by Canadian Comedy Award winner Natasha Boomer, who spent the last 13 years teaching and performing at The Second City Training Centre, Toronto.
Boomer also stars in the show as Betty, our self-imposed family matriarch, who has been married for 17 years to her childhood sweetheart, Dean (Jason DeRosse). They are joined for a dinner party by Betty’s sister, Rose (Allana Reoch) and her new man, Tim (Scott Cavalheiro).
Betty has recently discovered vegetarianism, however her husband, Dean, is always within arms reach of beef jerky and would like to keep it that way. Still madly in love after 17 years, this couple is madly falling out of love with each others new habits and hobbies. So when Betty discovers her little sister, Rose, has been hiding her new butcher boyfriend, Tim, from her, she decides to throw one of her world famous dinner parties. What you get is Supperfesta!, where pants are optional, wine bottles seem endless, secrets are revealed in an untimely fashion, and everyone is left wondering if their relationships can survive.
Jason DeRosse, Canadian Comedy Award winner (best male improviser and best troupe, Mantown) and performer for two years on The Second City MainStage will be joining the cast as Dean Armstrong.
Allanna Reoch, the female half of the Canadian Comedy Award nominated troupe, British Teeth, will take on the role of younger sister, Rose Pith.
Scott Cavalheiro, a Canadian TV regular, with appearances on shows such as: Saving Hope, Flashpoint, Cra$h and Burn and Satisfaction, will be taking on the role of Tim Evans.
The cast will be directed by Canadian Comedy Award winner, Shari Hollett (Radio:30).
For over 15 years, Natasha Boomer has been creating and performing. Her works include: Lover's Take Your Mark, Irene Gets Mad and Boomsicle the Musical. She is delighted to be back for the holiday season.
