Toronto, ON (Monday, Nov. 4, 2013)- Theatre 20's Artistic Board today announced the members of its 2013-14 Emerging Artist Ensemble, comprised of extremely talented, passionate and committed up-and-coming musical theatre performers.
For the 2013-2014 program, Theatre 20's Artistic Board (comprised of Adam Brazier - Chair, Juan Chioran - Vice Chair, David Keeley, Nora McLellan, Chilina Kennedy, Louise Pitre, Trish Lindström and Dan Chameroy) have selected just six Emerging Artists who demonstrate great promise with both talent and the drive to succeed. The Emerging Artist Ensemble is made up of those artists they believe have the potential to become established and leading members of the Canadian music theatre community.
Those selected for the 2013-14 program are: Ann Paula Bautista, David DiFrancesco, Jordan Fantauzzo, Gaby Grice, Luke Marty, and Beth Robertson. These six were chosen from over 80 candidates seen at auditions.
Theatre 20 helps these young artists to continue to develop their craft and advises them how to best nurture their careers while providing performance opportunities and one-on-one mentorship. The Emerging Artists perform on stage at Theatre 20 events alongside Founding Artists, as well as with other established artists from the professional theatre community.
Emerging Artists will be featured at The Company We Keep Cabaret Series at Jazz Bistro which has now been extended into 2014 due to its great success - every show has sold out in advance (Juan Chioran and Carly Street host the next cabaret Sunday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.). Emerging Artists will also have the opportunity to witness the process of bringing a musical to the stage with Theatre 20's upcoming production of Sondheim and Furth's COMPANY in Summer 2014.
