"It ain't no secret I didn't get these scars falling over in church." - John Marston
Canadian Comedy Award-nominated Bad Dog Theatre Company (Next Stage Festival’s Throne of Games) teams up with masters of genre comedy Sex T-Rex (Callaghan! And the Wings of the Butterfly, Toronto Fringe 2013) to create four unique, unscripted shows at Comedy Bar this January. An homage to some of film’s grittiest Westerns (think Red Dead Redemption and The Good, The Bad and the Ugly) Sundown combines Sex T-Rex’s signature physicality and their love of whip-smart comedy.
A man sits alone by a roaring fire, a vast and desolate landscape behind him. Beckoning you to join him he begins to tell the story of North America’s past. A time when life was hard and the people were harder. When wells were dug deep and moral corruption ran deeper. When buffalo roamed free and bandits roamed free...er. Real rough and tumble stuff, Sundown is a must-see for fans of high stakes genre comedies.
Directed by Colin Munch (Callaghan!, SPANK! The 50 Shades of Grey Parody) a gang of Toronto's best improvisers saddle up this January to present Sundown. Performers include Christy Bruce (The Soaps, Provocateur), Conor Bradbury (Sex T-Rex, Faking Bad), Julian Frid (Sex T-Rex, D&D Live), Alessandra Vite (The Sketchersons, Wayward) and Ashley Comeau (Second City Mainstage, Throne of Games) with narration & original music by Devon Hyland.
