In March 1989, when David & Ed Mirvish presented the Canadian premiere of Cameron Mackintosh's blockbuster production of LES MISÉRABLES, a new era in Canadian theatre began. The talent that was introduced in that production included Michael Burgess, Louise Pitre and many others who went on to define Canadian musical theatre for that generation.
Now, as the new 25th Anniversary Cameron Mackintosh production of Boublil & Schönberg's masterpiece is preparing to premiere in Canada in October 2013 as part of the 2013-2014 Mirvish Subscription Season, yet a new generation of Canadian talent will be launched.

The New York Times calls this production of LES MISÉRABLES “an unquestionably spectacular production from start to finish.” The London Times hails the new show “a five-star hit, astonishingly powerful.” The Star-Ledger says “a dynamically re-imagined hit. This LES MISÉRABLES has improved with age,” and NY1-TV proclaims “this new production actually exceeds the original. Musical theatre fans can rejoice: ‘Les Mis’ is born again.”
