The Board of Directors of Theatre Collingwood is pleased to announce that Erica Angus has joined the company in the new role of Executive Director. “As Theatre Collingwood launches in new and exciting directions, bringing Erica on board is a key component of our renewal,” said Board Chair Harold Bickerstaff.
Erica comes to Theatre Collingwood from Theatre by the Bay in Barrie. She has extensive experience in the theatre industry having worked for the past ten years as a producer and administrator for a professional theatre company. Erica brings a high level of expertise from her work with professional actors, EQUITY, performers, technical and creative team members. Erica sat on the Board for Tourism Barrie representing the arts and culture sector, with a special focus on marketing and collaborating with hoteliers, restaurants and the arts community to attract tourists. She was also a Founding Member of the Lawn Chair Luminata Arts Festival for the City of Barrie and the Downtown Community Theatre Advisory Committee, helping arts groups build capacity while focusing on the enhancement of the downtown to enrich the quality of life for citizens, businesses and visitors to the City.

Theatre Collingwood is gearing up for a great season of professional live theatre. The 2013 theatre season will see Theatre Collingwood presenting several musicals, comedies and headline performers, reflecting what our surveys said patrons wanted to see on stage. The season will run between June and September and will take centre stage at the “newly renovated” Historic Gayety Theatre.

Theatre Collingwood will be staging five plays this season, including Blue Suede Shoes, Billy Bishop Goes to War, On a First Name Basis, Forever Plaid and Same Time Next Year. Each play features outstanding performances by professional casts of actors.
Blue Suede Shoes - Starring renowned Elvis tribute artist, Roy LeBlanc, this unique take on “the story that is Elvis” is told by Colonel Tom Parker and includes an amazing 45 songs and 14 costume changes! June 2013
Billy Bishop Goes to War - Starring the very talented Sandy Thorburn (Toronto) producer/director/ actor/ musician as the narrator, and award winning actor Mark McGrinder as Billy Bishop, this inspiring and entertaining production tells the story of Canada’s greatest flying ace. This play is part musical/part drama. July 2013
On a First Name Basis - Stars the perennial favorite, Norm Foster and the very talented Patricia Vanstone. What happens when a very successful but cantankerous novelist discovers he knows nothing of his maid of 28 years, but she knows absolutely everything about him? Revelations that are equally surprising, funny and extremely moving! July/August 2013
Forever Plaid - Directed by Dave Campbell, with designs by Tim Webb, this deliciously goofy musical revue is full of 1950s tight harmonies and outlandish choreography that will have audiences rolling in the aisles. August 2013
Same Time Next Year - Director Dave Campbell brings to us one of the most popular romantic comedies of all time. Follow the story of Doris and George who, while married to others, rendezvous once a year in this hilarious and touching story. September 2013

Theatre-goers can reserve subscription tickets now to enjoy best available seating. Single tickets go on sale April 1st, when they may be booked on-line through the website at www.theatrecollingwood.ca or by visiting Theatre Collingwood’s year-round Box Office in-person at 65 Simcoe Street. Tickets can also be purchased one hour prior to any performance (upon availability) at the Historic Gayety Theatre, (but we suggest you pre-purchase to avoid disappointment!)
