TORONTO (March 11, 2013) – The award-winning Crow’s Theatre is inviting Toronto’s Bay Street suits to venture out of Toronto’s skyscrapers for a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in the inaugural Bay Street’s Got Talent on May 22, 2013 at The Danforth Music Hall.
Crow’s Theatre Artistic Director Chris Abraham joins the event as a judge, along with Celebrity Judges Jeanne Beker (host of Fashion Television Channel), Torquil Campbell (Stars front man and CBC personality), Sheila McCarthy (Singer and Actor, Little House of the Prairie), Richard Ouzounian (Toronto Star – Chief Theatre Critic) and Jamie Watt (Executive Chairman, Navigator Ltd. and Panelist on CBC’s The Insiders).
Inspired by the “Got Talent” franchise, open auditions in March 2013 will select contestants for the finals at The Danforth Music Hall. The thirty contestants will be paired with celebrity coaches to “up their game” in preparation for the May 22nd finals where they will perform in front friends, colleagues and sponsors. The Celebrity Judges will pick the Top Five Finalists – and the live audience will select the Bay Street 2013 Winner.
Crow’s Theatre welcomes singers, bands, stand-up acts - but also the more unusual acts: fastest envelope stuffing team, best impression of their boss, most unusual pet tricks… creativity is welcome and encouraged!
Crow’s Celebrity Coach roster includes: Graham Abbey (Theatre, Film and TV Star – CBC’s The Border), Diane Flacks (Acclaimed Actor, Writer, Columnist and Radio Personality), Kate Hennig (Actor and Broadway star – Billy Elliot, Gypsy, Cabaret), Danielle Hodges (Co-owner of dog-training school ‘Follow The Leader’ as seen on City TV, CHCH and Sun TV), and hot off CBC’s Over the Rainbow, Thom Allison, Canadian musical theatre star.
The lucky contestants will have the priceless opportunity to get onstage at The Danforth Music Hall that has presented the likes of The Clash, The Police, Stars, K-OS, Indigo Girls, Billy Bragg and Rihanna.

Tickets to the live finals at The Danforth Music Hall on May 22, 2013 at 8PM go on sale April 15th ($60 plus service charges).

Toronto: Crow’s Theatre announces the inaugural “Bay Street’s Got Talent” for May 22
