Aluna Theatre and Native Earth Performing Arts (NEPA) are proud to announce their partnership in the second edition of the Panamerican Routes | Rutas Panamericanas: an International Festival of Performance, taking place February 17-March 9, 2014 at the Daniels Spectrum, 585 Dundas Street East-Toronto. Curated with an eye to what artists from across Latin America are doing that has meaning for artists and audiences in Toronto, the festival is also becoming an important platform for the presentation of new work and new artists from Canada. It is also offering newcomers the opportunity to present their work in Canada for the first time.
In 2014 Panamerican Routes | Rutas Panamericanas will showcase a wide variety of artists from across the Americas. Guests from Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, and Turtle Island (the US and Canada) will take over the Daniels Spectrum in a celebration of art from the top of Turtle Island to Tierra del Fuego. Programming includes main stage performances, gallery exhibits, installations, at least EIGHT workshops with International masters, showcases of dynamic local work in progress, concerts, and engaging conversations in the Conversatorio, a three day event where artists, academics, and activists meet with the public to discuss the role of art in building community.
