The Youth program presented by French Theatre closes this year with a piece about cultural transmission, the focus being humans in the animal family and their link to an invisible reality. An impressive bird has come from another world where animals and humans still live together. Long ago the black raven was a pale white child, but is now a prisoner of the sky. He tells his story to the little girl Nukum who later, as an old woman, tells it to her grandchildren before flying off with Corbeau, perched on his wings.
This puppet performance questions our way of perceiving the world and everything within it. We do of course need our senses, but we also need mystery and imagination, aspects that seem to be in short supply today.Corbeau is an invitation to raise our eyes to the sky in order to catch a glimpse of this strange bird able to help us comprehend life by means of myths and legends.
