TORONTO, April 16 , 2013 – On May 5th 2013, Guild Festival Theatre presents a music and theatre cabaret celebrating eastern Toronto’s arts and culture at the Scarborough Village Theatre. Feauturing: Scarborough Music Theatre with excerpts from South Pacific * this year’s double award-winning Oshawa Little Theatre with music from The Secret Garden * Brant Theatre Workshops’ cast of Dracula * Performances by James Woods, Heidi Breier, Andy Hui and more.
The Cabaret will be a cozy, light-hearted way to celebrate spring’s arrival – and the approach of Guild Festival Theatre’s 2013 summer season of outdoor theatre. Along with the cabaret performances, there will be food, drink, prizes and a silent auction. Guild Festival Theatre’s Artistic Director and Board will be on hand to announce the company’s July 2013 spectacular: an open-air rendition of Molière’s comedy classic The Misanthrope on the Greek stage at The Guild, presented by BMO Financial Group.
All proceeds of the event will go towards the Guild Festival Theatre’s production of The Misanthrope. Specially discounted ‘early bird’ tickets to The Misanthrope will be available at the cabaret.

About the Guild Festival Theatre
Guild Festival Theatre was founded in 2009 with the vision of creating a high-profile annual theatre festival of classics on the open-air Greek stage at the historic Guild in Scarborough, ON. The Guild Festival Theatre is proud to participate in the movement to re-establish a Guild of All Arts in Scarborough, along with the Guild Renaissance Group and other community advocates.
In 2011, Guild Festival Theatre produced The Cherry Orchard to outstanding acclaim. In 2012, GFT presented Clouds Over TO, the world premiere of a brand new musical modernization of Aristophenes’ The Clouds. In 2013, its third year of professional production, Guild Festival Theatre presents Molière’s The Misanthrope.
