Toronto, ON –Executive Director Kelly Straughan and The Toronto Fringe Board of Directors are thrilled to announce that Lucy Eveleigh has been appointed the new General Manager of The Toronto Fringe. Eveleigh takes over from current General Manager Kathryn Westoll, who leaves the festival at the end of July.
“Together with the Board of Directors, I am thrilled to welcome Lucy as the new General Manager,” said Straughan. “She has the energy, enthusiasm and expertise necessary to take the Toronto Fringe to new heights.”
Lucy Eveleigh moved to Canada from the UK in 2001. She has lived in Toronto, Montreal, London and Edinburgh and has worked at The Canadian Stage Company, Necessary Angel and TAPA. In Montreal she was the creator and artistic director of Zoofest, part of the Just For Laughs festival. In the UK she was the General Manager for Pleasance Theatre, located in London and responsible for festival operations at over 20 venues in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
“I have had 'fringe' in my blood since being part of the Edinburgh Festival,” said Eveleigh “so I am overjoyed to be joining the team at the Toronto Fringe Festival. I am forever grateful for my experiences at SummerWorks and am happy that I will have a chance to complete the 2013 SummerWorks Festival before moving to the Fringe full-time.”
Currently, Lucy is the General Manager of the SummerWorks Theatre Festival and the Artistic Producer of Freestanding, the company behind the works my pregnant brother and Big Plans. She also works as a life coach and mentor.

Eveleigh will join the Toronto Fringe in a full-time capacity following the SummerWorks Festival in August 2013.
