Toronto, ON – May 30, 2013: Matt Baram and Naomi Snieckus of The National Theatre of the World today announced a new playwright for The Script Tease Project: U.S. comedian Lewis Black. Known for his Grammy-nominated comedy album In God We Rust and his work on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Black is a celebrated stand-up comedian, author, playwright, social critic and actor. The Script Tease Project involves renowned writers crafting the first two pages of a new play. Each night a new envelope is opened on stage for the first time, the pages read cold, and the resulting hour-long play completely improvised by The National Theatre of the World with a little help from the audience. The Script Tease Project runs at the Young Centre from June 4-8; tickets are available at youngcentre.ca.
