Just in time for the television return of AMC’s acclaimed crime drama Breaking Bad, the award-winning comedy-smiths at the Bad Dog Theatre Company bring you: Faking Bad - a dynamic new show brought to life onstage, totally improvised, with an all-star cast of fantastic comedic talent.
Our show follows the misadventures of a mild-mannered high school home economics teacher who, fearing for his family’s future after being diagnosed with a fatal illness, teams up with his low-life student in an all-or-nothing attempt to make some quick cash in the marijuana-baking biz. But what seems like a simple plan turns out to be a recipe for disaster... High stakes action and compelling character-driven drama meet the wild, unpredictable excitement of unscripted comedy. While the characters' stories will be serialized over the whole run, each week's episode will have standalone themes and a central arc distilled from each of the television show's 5 seasons.
Directed by acclaimed improvisor Etan Muskat (The Bitter End) and featuring Bruce Hunter (Puppets Who Kill), Conor Holler (Big Fella), Dan Beirne (Dad Drives), Dale Boyer (Night of the Living Dead Live), Nigel Downer (Second City), James Gangl (Sex, Religion & Other Hang Ups), and Craig Anderson (Bad Dog Repertory Players).
Bad Dog’s recent unscripted television send-up, Throne of Games (featuring many Faking Bad cast members), was just nominated for a 2013 Canadian Comedy Award as Best Live Show, Revue or Series!
