Unit 102 Actors Co. is back with the Toronto premier of Martin McDonagh’s award winning black comedy, A Behanding in Spokane. On the heels of a successful year, Unit 102 is excited to bring the sharp wit and gruesome subject matter of McDonagh’s first ever American set play. A Behanding in Spokane premiered on Broadway in 2010 to critical acclaim and finally McDonagh’s jocular play is here for Toronto audiences to enjoy.
This dark comedy brings to light the story of Carmichael, a man on a long suffering search for his severed hand. After years of failure he finds himself in a small town Arizona hotel with two low level “hand dealers” claiming to have Carmichael’s long sought out hand. Before you can even settle in, the scene turns chaotic in this quick moving playful comedy.
