Auditions will be held at the Village Playhouse, 2190 Bloor Street West
at the following times:
Monday, August 26, 2013: 7:00 – 10:00 pm
Wednesday, August 28, 2013: 7:00 – 10:00 pm
Call backs: Friday, August 30 from 7:00 pm
Cast: N.B. Ages indicate the age the character should appear to be
Monica Bare: Matron of the house, middle aged, light accent [English]
Emmie: [60-70], light accent - but more countrified [certainly not polished], house maid
Philip Mortimer: Early thirties, lawyer, Canadian
Edward Bare: Late thirties to early forties, good looking, light accent that drops the h's when he gets ruffled [which suggests a common beginning]
Freda Jeffries: Forty something, attractive, quite to the point [to the point of being coarse] Light accent
Charlotte Young; The younger side of middle-aged, attractive, wealthy, an Australian accent would be desirable [but not essential]
Please prepare a short [approximately two minutes] monologue that is either dramatic, or comedic, and which contains some hint of an English accent. Excerpts from the play will be available for actors to read at the audition. Please bring a resume and headshot - a photocopy will do. You should read the play before auditioning. The script is on reserve at the Performing Arts Desk, 5th floor, Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street.
