August 20, 2013 – After a brief break between productions at the Opera House, the Muskoka summer theatre line-up comes to an end with a dinner theatre production of Sadie Flynn Comes to Big Oak presented by the Garage Door Players running August 27th through August 31st.
Life seems a little quiet in Big Oak until fresh-out-of-prison Sadie Flynn steps off the bus. The keeper of the local diner, Tom and his sidekick employee Orson are soon graced with the entertainment they had wished for. Sadie’s arrival sets off more than just a pair of inept small-town Romeos!
As the story unfolds, things heat up when Tom offers Sadie a waitressing job and his storeroom as a place to live. That’s fodder for regulars like Rachel, the telephone operator who listens in on everyone’s business, and Bev, a hairdresser who’s privy to everyone’s stories. As if Sadie’s arrival is not enough, odd occurrences start happening. Is this a coincidence or is there more going on than meets the eye?
“We have been very fortunate to have a fantastic line-up of productions take the stage this summer,” says Barbara Anderson-Huget, manager of Arts and Culture at the Gravenhurst Opera House. “Sadie Flynn finishes an excellent season full of talent and comedy.”
Sadie Flynn is a dinner theatre production with dinner at 6:00pm and the performance at 7:30pm. Dinner and show tickets are $47.50 and show only tickets are $25.50. Tickets can be purchased online at www.gravenhurstoperahouse.com or by calling the Box Office at (705) 687-5550.
