Join Soundstreams executive director Chris Lorway in discussion with Tracy Michailidis and Mitchell Marcus in a discussion of the current state of new musical theatre and new opera. Learn about the pitfalls and the successes of creating new works in a world that is constantly viewed in the shadow of Broadway.
Mitchell Marcus presents work from Acting Up Stage’s NoteWorthy program that is designed to systematically advance the development of new Canadian musicals. The program brings together Composers, Playwrights, Actors, Directors and Musical Directors from initial workshop of ideas to a final production.
Tracy Michailidis, producer of SummerWorks Musical Works, brings to the stage new musical theatre that demonstrates the collaborative form of the genre.
