Toronto, ON - Young People’s Theatre is proud to present Christopher Duthie’s acclaimed one man show nOOB. This poignant story about a boy who runs away from home when his parents confiscate his game console will be presented on the Mainstage from February 11 to 20, 2014.
“noob“: an inexperienced and/or unskilled player of video games
Obsessed with online gaming, a boy refuses to respond to his parents’ concerns regarding the countless hours he spends in a make-believe world. As he becomes increasingly isolated, an online reality full of gunshots, enemies and strategy also provides a community full of acceptance, unity and safety. When his parents confiscate his game console, the boy runs away from home and into aworld riskier than any combat game he has ever played.
Written and performed by Calgary native Christopher Duthie. Directed by Nathan Pronyshn. Dramaturge/mentor: Bob White; Set designer: Deitra Kalyn.
