Toronto, ON January 30, 2014 – Cahoots Theatre presents The Wanderers by Kawa Ada. This imaginative and daring piece will star Kawa Ada( Iceland, Top 10 Theatre Artist of 2103 Now Magazine), Dalal Badr (Stratford Festival, Little Mosque on the Prairie), Melanie Janzen ( Shaw Festival/Stratford Festival) and making his Toronto stage debut, Omar Alex Khan (The Kite Runner, Todd & The Book of Pure Evil).
Developed through the Cahoots Hothouse play development unit, Afghan-Canadian Kawa Ada weaves the epic tale of a family transplanted from war-torn Afghanistan. Left to confront their new world in Canada, a father and son each succumb to their own desires. Both become haunted by a mysterious presence that awakens the forces of devastation they thought they had left behind. A masterful story of legacy, race, and sexuality, The Wanderers gives audiences a rare Afghan-Canadian perspective from one of Toronto’s most celebrated new artists.
