Toronto, ON – Tuesday, January 7, 2014 Sterling Studio Theatre Collective presents Ravenscroft by Don Nigro, directed by Sophie Ann Rooney, co-directed by Kyle Labine and featuring an incredible cast. This dark comedy runs from January 29 to February 8, 2014 at Sterling Studio Theatre as part of their second season.
Ravenscroft is a psychological drama. It is a thinking person's Gothic thriller, a dark comedy that is both funny and frightening. On a snowy night, Inspector Ruffing is called to a remote house to investigate the headlong plunge of Patrick Roarke down the main staircase. He becomes involved in the lives of five alluring and dangerous women. Ruffing’s investigation leads him to his own tortured soul and the nature of truth itself. You will not guess the ending…
Quickly establishing her mark on the Toronto independent theatre scene, Co-Artistic Director of Sterling Studio Theatre Collective and award winning film and theatre Director Sophie Ann Rooney (The Glory of Living, The Real Inspector Hound) directs Ravenscroft’s talented cast. Kyle Labine, who recently directed the sold-out run of Jane Ford’s The Foursome, joins her as Co-Director.
Harrison Coe (The Strain, Apostles Creed – Toronto Fringe Festival, Living in Your Car, Warehouse 13) takes the stage as Inspector Ruffing. Nadia Blanchfield, (Where’s My Money, Down River), Jessica Hinkson (Lion in the Streets, Sex Lies and David Ives – Lilyfire Productions/The Lyric Project, Who Are You Calling Crazy – Absolut Theatre Company), Elizabeth Tanner (The Seagull – Upstart Theatre, Allie Has an Affair) round out the cast, with Alana Pancyr making her Toronto stage debut.
