Stage Door News
Directed by Evany Rosen (Picnicface, Space Janitors), The Pageant is a wildly irreverent celebration of the best - and worst - parts of the holiday season, all gift-wrapped up in an unscripted package that pays homage to the rich tradition of "very special" sitcom episodes. Each show focuses on a different family's quest to come to terms with a huge piece of news and find the true meaning of the season (both as suggested by the audience) and culminates in the classic show-within-a-show device: the staging of a holiday pageant that pulls the whole motley cast of characters together.
Starring an amazing cast of Toronto's best improvisers, including Alistair Forbes (Bonspeil!), Dan Beirne (Dad Drives), Craig Anderson (TO I Love You), James Gangl (Sex, Religion, & Other Hang Ups), Colin Munch (Punched Up), Kirsten Rasmussen (Second City Tour Co.), Kayla Lorette (The Sufferettes), Christy Bruce (The Soaps), Jan Caruana (Golden Ages) and Andy Hull (Space Janitors).
