Toronto, ON – Harry Potter fans, critics, wizards and squibs can once again unite for a magical night out with the enchanting production, Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff. Starvox Entertainment presents the return of the international smash hit in Toronto from Dec. 17 to Jan. 11 at the Panasonic Theatre (651 Yonge Street).
Condensing all seven Harry Potter books into seventy hilarious minutes, Potted Potter is world renowned for leaving audiences rolling on the floor with laughter. Tickets are already disapparating, so due to popular demand Starvox has added 14 new performances so even more families have the chance to discover Harry’s magical world.
With a fan base as varied as the characters themselves, Potted Potter has audiences of all ages raving about the production. The two-man show was written by Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, and nominated for an Olivier Award. The Toronto run of Potted Potter includes a new cast featuring the UK’s Benjamin Stratton and James Percy sharing the stage with Jesse Briton who will cover additional performances through the holidays.
Supported only by several costume changes, some songs, and ridiculous accessories, two actors take on a variety of favourite characters from the wizarding world created in J.K. Rowling’s unforgettable books. To add to the hilarity, audience members (even the muggles) are invited to engage with a real life Quidditch match according to a unique set of rules.
“It’s the best topic for a family show,” said Clarkson and Turner. “On one side of the theatre you have a six-year-old boy who loves the books, and on the other a 40-year-old woman who also loves them. That’s why the shows do so well, because of the age range of people who love Harry Potter.”
As part of their international world tour – including runs in Australia, Singapore and Dubai – Potted Potter lands in Toronto for the second time, after playing to sold-out houses in 2011 which led to another successful run in New York City.
“After introducing Canadian audiences to Potted Potter and taking the show on the road, we knew we had to bring this brilliant production back to Toronto,” said Corey Ross, president of Starvox Entertainment. “The magic of the show is that absolutely everybody loves it – even if they’ve never heard of Hogwarts – so it’s the perfect way to bring friends and family together for the holidays.”
On sale now, tickets range in price from $39.95 to $99.95 and are available online at mirvish.com or by phone at 1.800.461.3333.

About Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner:
Daniel Clarkson first met Jefferson Turner while Turner was busking in Covent Garden, and since then, the two have been inseparable. Beginning in December 2008, the pair hosted Children’s BBC on BBC1 throughout 2009. Their first show, Potted Potter toured nationally throughout 2007 and 2008 and enjoyed four sold-out London runs and four sold-out Edinburgh Festival Fringe seasons (2006 to 2009). The 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe saw the premiere of the duo’s latest show Potted Panto, which played London’s West End over Christmas & New Year’s 2010-2011 before touring nationally and will return to London this Christmas. Potted Panto was recently nominated for a Best Entertainment Olivier Award.
